Life Skills & Legal Tools for Turning 18
Through clear explanations & hands-on guidance, students will learn about Advance Directives, legal rights, financial basics & insurance essentials. Why Do You Need Advance Directives?
Parents/guardians need Advance Directives because without them, they may be blocked from:
- Making medical decisions in an emergency.
- Accessing medical records (HIPAA restrictions).
- Handling insurance claims or disputes.
- Assisting with financial accounts or student loans.
- Helping resolve housing or lease contracts.
- Guiding their child through legal issues (car accidents, liability, etc.).
